The snow

... to come soon

Sunset Sunsations

As I sit with my camera in my lap, fuzzy blanket around my freezing feet, and tired mind wandering I find myself once again contemplating the beauty of simplicity.  It might even help explain the way my brain seems to stop, Frozen just like Olaf's brain or Elsa's icy blasts.

Anyway, as I was trying to say. It just seems to get colder and colder as the sun sets, but yet I remain frozen in place taking in the moment.  Snapping pictures here and there for memories, tapping my restless fingers as I can't seem to remember anything correctly, and that distracts me long enough that my brain might remember. Enjoying the pinks, blues, purples, yellows, oranges, and every other aspect of this simple moment, maybe even a magic moment cue soundtrack ;)

Loving the feel of my ice cube nose and nearly numb fingers, but hey at least that reminds me of my absolute love of skiing. Even hearing the hum of the North Carolina fishing boats brings a sense of peace as the smell of gasoline floats to my nose. The sharp bark of the family and rumble of voices that reminds me of the reality and warmth within my family home I love so much, as well as the people I love.  The pleasant reminders of vacations and history, a little piece of me.  The puzzle pieces falling in place and life slowly calming and seeming as it should.

Simply put beauty calms me.  It can help restore a restless mind or non-stop talking. I think my favorite use of a camera is to capture a scene, moment, second.  There really is so much going on behind the lens.  I well and truly believe a picture is worth a thousand words.

With the true icicle feelings returning and my brain once again freezing in distraction, not from an icy cold Wendy's frosty, but from stupidity it feels like.  Anyway,  I'm trying and failing to leave behind my moment and enter into a new one.  So if you've read thanks for reading my epiphany,  maybe now you know just a little more about Krista and her love for Sunset Sensations.
